According to the Ningxia Prosecutor’s Office on May 21st, Chen Liyun (at the department level), former member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Ningxia Performing Arts Group Co., Ltd., former Party Branch Secretary and Manager of Ningxia Performing Arts Group Song and Dance Theater Co., Ltd., is suspected of corruption and bribery. The investigation has been concluded by the Shizuishan Municipal Supervision Commission and transferred to the procuratorial organs for examination and prosecution.
At the request of the People’s Procuratorate of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the case will be reviewed and prosecuted by the People’s Procuratorate of Dawukou District, Shizuishan City. Recently, the People’s Procuratorate of Dawukou District, Shizuishan City decided to arrest suspect Chen Liyun on suspicion of corruption and bribery according to law. On December 6, 2024, it was reported that Chen Liyun, former member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Ningxia Performing Arts Group Co., Ltd., is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law. She is currently undergoing disciplinary review by the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Autonomous Region Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision stationed at the Department of Culture and Tourism, as well as supervision and investigation by the Shizuishan City Supervision Commission.
According to public information, Chen Liyun was born in 1968 and graduated from an art school in 1985. She was selected to join the Ningxia Song and Dance Troupe.
It is reported that she has won the gold medal at the 14th “Spring of April” International Friendship Art Festival, the third prize for three person dance performance at the 10th “Peacock Award” Ethnic Minority Dance Competition, and the Outstanding Actor Award at the 2nd National Ethnic Minority Literature and Art Exhibition.
She is a first-class actress and also serves as the Vice Chairman of Ningxia Dancers Association, Secretary of the Party Branch of Ningxia Performing Arts Group Song and Dance Theater, and Dean.
Before Chen Liyun was investigated, on November 7, 2024, it was reported that Fan Jinguo, former Party Secretary and General Manager of Ningxia Performing Arts Group Co., Ltd., former member of the Party Group of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Department of Culture, and former Vice Chairman of the Autonomous Region Federation of Literary and Art Circles, was investigated. On May 13th, the People’s Procuratorate of Shizuishan City made an arrest decision against Fan Jinguo on suspicion of corruption and bribery in accordance with the law.
